The skeleton boy

Rick genest for Mugler

Fashion has always been an industry celebrating diversity, art and of course unapologetic self expression. From the queer community to all kinds of creatives the industry has been a safe haven and a place of celebration of all things seemingly out of place.

Rick Genest, or as he has come to be known "skeleton boy" gained recognition through the fashion industry. Canadian born artist, now model and actor Rick Genest stood out for the skeletal, corpse like tattoos which cover the majority of his body. He appeared on MAC's promotional advert for their face and body foundation, where Genest had been completely wiped clean of his intricate ink artworks using the pigmented foundation. He co-starred along side Lady Gaga for her " Born this way " video clip through which he gained a substantial amount of recognition as the video gained over 200.000.000 views since its release date. Genest has recently started appearing in movies as he pursues a promising acting career. He graced the screen in movies like sucker punch and the modern revamp of Mad Max Fury Road which featured a glittering list of Hollywoods A-list actors.

Considered having your first tattoo but worried it might limit your job opportunities? Well our skeleton boy is here to reassure you that times are changing.
