Oh, Violet

December, the temperature drops, endless nights by the fire and we look for the warmest emotions to explore during the coldest time of year.

So to speak it comes as no surprise that this is what one half of a special R&B duo based in LA who goes by the name "Dijon" decided to do. With the new year comes new, fresh music from upcoming independent artists as well as well established ones and often gems are left buried under the hundreds of songs floating around on the web or hovering in dimly lit corners of bars with names nobody can pronounce dismissed as background noise to the mildly interesting conversation with that guy who probably won't text you in the morning. And so Dijon, an upcoming soul, jazz artist blessed us with the soulful track "violence" through which he paints vivid images of a young love withering away like the leaves under the heavy weight of Decembers snow. Lyrical and unquestionably romantic he delivers across nostalgia and pain whilst almost reminiscing a love which felt like the sun on your skin on a Sunday afternoon in mid July, doing so in the coldest period of the year
