Bonnie and Bonnie

Back in 2014 Avicii released a single entitled: Addicted to you. The notions of classic cliche romance are found throughout the lyrics of the whole song and not just the title. The vocally challenging song was tackled by Audra Mae and embellished with jazzy sounds in an upbeat tempo.

The song itself was beautiful alone through the poetic lyrics, the rich composition, decadent sounds and strong vocals however what really made it remarkable was the music video. Directed by Sebastian Ringler the story is a spin-off and mashup of Bonnie and Clyde and Romeo and Juliet with a modern (yet vintage) twist. Set in a winter in the 1930's our first heroine is depicted working as a waitress who then is greeted by a blonde woman who after swiftly downing her drink they both pull out guns and rob the bar. They ride victorious through the snowy roads and then proceed to take to the bedroom in the spirit of love and celebration of payday! Our girls get confident and decide to wreath havoc even further on a bigger scale by attempting to rob a bank. After entering the bank with guns drawn, the blonde places an explosive on the door of the safe box and in the meantime takes a moment to give her lover, our brunette heroine, a cinematic kiss on the counter only to be cut short by a bullet which goes straight through art chest fired by a policeman, one of many who have now gathered outside the building. Our heroine holds the body of her lover in her arms and in the state of shock, anger and heartbreak decides to take revenge by unstrapping the explosive from the safe and running out of the building straight towards the waiting policemen suicidally blowing them all up.

Our Bonnie here redefined the meaning of a Kamikaze lover and an explosive romance
